Wildground’s EUDR Consultation Response
Proposal to Amend and Simplify the Rules of EU Regulation 2023/1115 (EUDR) — Delegated Act on Annex I: Exclusion of Leather, Hides and Skins
Wildground strongly opposes the European Commission's proposal to exclude leather, hides, and skins from the scope of the EUDR (Annex I Delegated Act, May 2026). This submission presents the evidence demonstrating that leather is a material driver of tropical deforestation, and that its continued inclusion in the Regulation is necessary for the EUDR to deliver its objectives.
